Health

Whatever the season, there are many ways to disengage from everyday life and recharge your batteries in the heart of this beautiful mountain landscape.

Book your holiday at Tegernsee

Lake Tegernsee has a long tradition of healing. The first pilgrims came some 500 years ago to experience the curative powers of St. Quirinus’ oil. In the 19th century, the nobility regularly visited Wildbad Kreuth for spa treatments and, at the beginning of the 20th century, the most concentrated iodine sulphur spring in Germany was discovered in Bad Wiessee, and has been used for medicinal purposes since then.

Regeneration and Expert knowledge

Til today the Tegernsee Valley is the perfect place to wind down, not only because of the crystal-clear lake but also thanks to various partners devoted to physical and spiritual health. If you’re looking for regeneration or enhanced self-awareness, you’ll find wonderful ways to achieve it here: saunas with a view of the lake, massages, customized health packages and the Mizu Onsen Spa.

If you’re recovering from illness or injury, you can also benefit from lake Tegernsee’s renowned experts, clinics and health facilities.

Get active and stay fit

The Tegernsee region’s bioclimate is literally a breath of fresh air. There are plenty of opportunities to get active and stay fit. As a partner region of the German Ski Association (DSV), Tegernsee Valley has an extensive network of trails for all ages and abilities. Besides a recent international study (the Jungbrunnen BERG study) confirmed the anti-ageing qualities of a combination of gentle sport and healing iodine sulphur water – so Lake Tegernsee is a real fountain of youth!

Special Hosts around the Tegernsee

For a health-boosting stay, look out for the “Gesundes Land” certification – a standard that applies to all accommodation, from apartments to hotels. Hosts receive special training and are tested to ensure they treat your well-being as their top priority.

“Gesundes Land” accommodation is assessed under a range of health tourism categories, and hosts know how to cater to your every need. The facilities, service and food must foster the physical and spiritual well-being of the guests, with criteria including organic, local products for breakfast and personal support for your individual wishes.
