SEEADVENT BAD WIESSEE

On all Advent weekends from 2 pm to 7 pm at the lakeside promenade of Bad Wiessee

This year, Bad Wiessee will again greet its guests with twinkling lights by the lake. Right next to the marina, around 20 regional artisans and vendors will set up their stalls, where you can marvel at, try and buy a whole host of different things – from handmade felt slippers to wood carvings and Bavarian whisky punch. The smell of culinary delights and the sound of festive music are bound to conjure up that Christmas feeling.

The performances by the Tegernsee alphorn blowers are always a highlight for everyone, while the reenactment of traditional ancient rites by masked Perchten enthral young and old alike. What’s more, the ice carver will be there with his amazing sculptures, which are guaranteed to put a sparkle in every child’s eye.

You can even take a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride along the promenade to round off your visit and make Bad Wiessee’s lakeside Christmas market a truly special Advent experience.

ROTTACHER ADVENT

On all Advent weekends from 2 pm to 7 pm in the Spa Park on Seestrasse

The festively illuminated huts and paths in the Spa gardens of Rottach-Egern have attracted fans of stylish Christmas cheer from the region and beyond for many years. The local restaurants will treat you to regional Christmas specialities and skilled craftspeople will be selling original wares – such as feltwork, figures for nativity scenes and typical Bavarian handicrafts – which make ideal Christmas presents.

With alphorn blowers, festive music and mulled wine, you’re guaranteed to be in the mood for Christmas.

CASTLE MARKET TEGERNSEE

On all Advent weekends from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Castle Market in Tegernsee

Visitors to the Christmas village right in front of the impressive Castle Tegernsee (Tegernsee Castle and the church of Saint Quirinus) will find delicious food and drink and unique regional goods. Local products such as cheese from Kreuth, fine brandies and liqueurs from Gmund and chocolates from Waakirchen make perfect gifts, as do handmade nativity figures, decorations and traditional Bavarian outfits. With more than 30 stalls, there are always plenty of high-quality products to choose from.

A big alpine hut provides a romantic atmosphere and local musicians play gentle yuletide tunes, so that visitors can reflect on the real meaning of Christmas.

RELAXED SHOPPING WITH A SNOWY ALPINE BACKDROP

Strolling along the streets in Tegernsee Valley is something special. One of the places you’ll find presents for your nearest and dearest is the historic Rosenstrasse in Tegernsee Town, where you can browse small boutiques, try on hand-made winter hats, buy unique and one-off items and more.

Beautifully decorated shop windows in the Seestrasse and Hauptstrasse in Rottach-Egern will bring you pre-Christmas cheer. Experienced assistants will help you find just what your heart desires for the new winter season.

Bad Wiessee, too, offers exclusive Christmas and gift ideas in many stores and boutiques around Lindenplatz. You can buy special Tegernsee gifts and souvenirs – including hot punch, herbal tea made with local mountain herbs, and mugs – at the huts of Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH on the markets and in the tourist information centres.
